Stafford Creek Lodge- Andros Island
Stafford Creek Lodge- This high quality lodge is owned and operated by Androsian Prescott Smith who also happens to be the son of legendary fly g uide “Crazy Charlie” Smith who developed his famous namesake fly pattern for bonefish aficionados. Eight lucky anglers will have the opportunity to enjoy the four spacious cabins spread out over the property along Stafford Creek in the northeastern part of Andros. Including Prescott himself, the guides consist of the team of Benry Smith, Shawn Riley and Solomon Murphy, all very experienced fly and terminal tackle experts. All guides have the finest flats boats using Maverick Mirages and the latest in four stroke technology. Expect to learn quite bit from this guide team as they head out each day to areas north to Joulters Cays, south to the Middle or South Bights and west to Red Bay. It is perhaps the best team of guides under one roof in all of Andros.
Anglers will find the food and service to be some of the best on Andros and is in line with Trek’s policy of maintaining an optimum number of anglers for better service. Fresh conch chowder and other seafood entrees combined with wonderful greens and desserts will round your out your meals. Prescott's sister Stacy is also on hand at the lodge to assist you with any requests you may have during your stay.
The most accessible airport to Stafford Creek Lodge is Andros Town or otherwise noted as Fresh Creek. Andros Town is a 40 minute taxi ride from the lodge and can be reached by flying commercially from Ft. Lauderdale on Continental Airlines or you may opt to use a charter service. Andros Town can also be reached by commercial or charter service from Nassau. Or you may also elect to fly to San Andros from Nassau located just north of Stafford Creek. Depending on your point of departure will ultimately determine your best route and Trek’s Travel Department will be glad to assist you in arranging your itinerary. Stafford Creek is open all year round except July-September. Call Trek today for suggested dates.
