Casa La Tany

This could be one of the most unique destinations trek offers.  Casa La Tany over looks the atlantic from high upon a bluff just outsude the city of Punta Del Este.  Bookings for this trip have already begun from last years groups!!! Season is only from March 15th to May 31st.

The Trip:  Each trip is a six night, seven day trip with four full days of Pigeon out of the beautiful new Casa La Tany.  Our trip starts in Miami with an overnight flight on American Airlines to Montevideo, Uruguay. There are now two options from Miami which include a direct flight into Montevideo or you can opt to transfer through Buenos Aires. When you arrive in Montevideo you will be met by Eduardo and his staff who will assist the group through customs and you will be transferred one hour to our hunt area near the resort town of Punta del Este. The next four days will be hunting days where you will shoot pigeons in the mornings and in the afternoon. After the last morning the group will be driven back to Montevideo where you will catch your flight back home.  

The Accommodations:  Our hunt headquarters will be the brand new Casa La Tany situated just out side the beautiful costal town of Punta Del Este. This lodge can feature six hunters so it is perfect for small groups that are looking for excellent hunting and accommodations in a relaxing setting that is unlike any other hunting lodge in South America. The lodge has three bedrooms with private bathrooms and all bedrooms and living areas have a view of the ocean.  There are two outdoor decks on the back of the house; the first floor has an infinity pool and hammocks, the second story deck has a brick wood burning barbecue and dining area where you can spend your midday lunch break. As an extra, with its close proximity to Punta del Este you can have dinner or visit one of the casinos that are only minutes away.

 The Hunting:  You will have four morning and four afternoons of pigeon hunts. Each morning you will have a full breakfast at La Tany while taking in the beautiful views before heading out to one of the nearby corn, sorhgum or peanut fields. Most drives to the fields are 25 to 45 minutes. You will be hunting out of rough blinds that will be made each morning by your bird boy while setting out the decoys.   Eduardo has exclusive leases in the hunting area so seeing other hunters outside of your groups will not occur. Rough blinds are constructed on the edges of the fields and out in the center to take advantage of flight patterns.  Lunch will either be their famous “Asado” in the field or you can elect to grill at La Tany on the second story deck with wood burning barbecue.  The pigeons in this area decoy very well and most of the time continue to decoy while being shot at. There is not a limit on the number of pigeons but you can expect to shoot 15 boxes of shells per day.  The unique experience awaiting you at La Tany can also be added to any one of Eduardo’s other hunting lodges to truly make this hunting trip second to none.  Within a weeks time you have the opportunity to hunt ducks, perdiz, and dove at three different locations, allowing you to see all of the beauty that the Uruguayan countryside has to offer and experience Eduardo’s three first class lodges. Trek can plan a custom trip to include all three lodges or any two of your choice.  We also have the optional charter flight to incorporate a full day hunt at two different locations to eliminate lost hunting time and long drives between lodges.
