THIS IS POSITIVELY, ABSOLUTELY, THE MOST ALL SPECIES INCLUSIVE MIXED BAG COMBINATION TRIP THAT WE HAVE EVER OFFERED IN URUGUAY AND MAYBE EVEN THE WORLD! ARTIGAS IS OUR COMPLETELY NEW URUGUAY COMBINATION TRIP FEATURING EXCELLENT DECOYING DUCKS, PIGEONS, HIGH VOLUME DOVES, UNFORGETTABLE PERDIZ, AND GIANT GOLDEN DORADO FISHING AT THE FAMOUS LA ZONA! WE HAVE BEEN PUTTING THIS TRIP TOGETHER FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS NOW AND LAST YEAR WE TOOK OUR FIRST EXPERIMENTAL GROUP AND FROM ALL REPORTS THIS COULD BE ONE OF THE BEST COMBINATION HUNTS WE HAVE EVER OFFERED HERE AT TREK SAFARIS.
THE TRIP: Each trip is a nine day, eight night trip with SIX days of hunting and fishing. Our trip starts in Miami with an overnight flight on American Airlines to Montevideo, Uruguay. When you arrive in Montevideo you will be met by Hector or one of his staff. They will assist the group through customs and you will be transferred two and a half hours to Estancia Ninette where you will hunt doves this afternoon. The following two days are high volume dove and perdiz shooting over Hectors well trained Brittanies. After the second afternoon’s hunt you will transfer three hours up to Artigas where we will be staying at the Oasis Termal Hotel. The following three days will be full hunting and fishing days with three activities per day! You will hunt ducks in the mornings, fishing from noon to 3:00pm for two afternoons in La Zona for Golden Dorado, and then perdiz, pigeon and dove hunting the remainder of the afternoons so there is very little down time on this trip. The last day you will hunt the morning only and lunch your group will charter back to Montevideo in time to catch your overnight American Airlines flights back home arriving in Miami early the next morning.
THE ACCOMMODATIONS: On this trip you will be staying at the Estancia Ninette which has eight single rooms and overlooks the Rio Negro river for two nights and then at the hot spring Oasis Termal Hotel near the Uruguay/Brazil border in Artigas. This Hotel is ideally situated in the middle of our duck area and only about 45 minutes from the fishing so drives should be less that 45 minutes where ever you go. Each hunter will have his own single apartment and bath with Jacuzzi. The hotel also has two hot spring fed swimming pools that are excellent to warm up and relax in after a day of hunting and fishing. The rooms are nicely decorated and are plenty spacious enough for two, let alone a single. The food at the hotel is especially prepared for our groups with fine Uruguayan beef, as well as local favorites of poultry and pasta. Fine wines in the cellar will round out your meals.
THE HUNTING:You will have two and a half days dove and perdiz hunting at Estancia Ninette, two mid days if fishing in the famous La Zona for monster Golden Dorado, four mornings of duck hunting, classic perdiz hunting and then you have some pigeons mixed in as well! The dove and perdiz hunting at Ninette are excellent with most drives to the fields under 20 minutes. The duck hunting is mostly done on the areas many rice fields but as a bonus we usually have pigeons coming into the rice as well. The perdiz hunting is great all over Uruguay and with Hectors famous Brittney’s, we are sure you will have great shooting.
TRIP FEE: $4995.00 per person from Miami on American Airlines. Included in the trip fee is your round trip airfare on American Airlines from Miami to Montevideo, two nights at Estancia Ninette, four nights at hot spring Oasis TermalHotel with all meals, six days of hunting two afternoons of Dorado fishing, all licenses, permits, and all transfers. Not included: domestic air to Miami, shells, tips and items of a personal nature.
