Argentina - Couple's Trip

The Trip- Trek has brought the Couples Trip back by popular demand for 2011 and it may be the best one we have ever designed. This 12 day and 11 night trip will have us spending two days in the beautiful city of Buenos Aires referred often as the “Paris of South America”. Along with the incredible sights and sounds of this magnificent city, we will enjoy a city tour and an evening Tango Show with dinner. Our headquarters will be the Alvear Palace Hotel in the heart of the Recoleta District that is the by all accounts the place to stay.

After our stay in Buenos Aires we will take a short flight north to Cordoba and a visit to Guayascate Lodge the best wingshooting lodge/resort in South America. Those who wish to hunt will have three exciting days of high volume dove shooting, while the non hunters will enjoy horseback riding, tour of Villa Maria or just relaxing at the spa with a massage. All meals are prepared by a professional chef and the service is top notch. The stay here will also include a sampling of Guayascate’s finest wines.

Our final destination will have us flying further north to the city of Salta, where we will stay at the Hotel Legado Mitico. Here the group will enjoy a city tour, a panoramic vista of the colorful Andean foothills followed by a visit to the Maam Museum and a special dinner at Lenita Restaurant. The second day in Salta we have planned a full day tour of the vineyards of Cafayate with lunch at the Yacochuya Winery which has been a big hit with our past visits. Our last destination will be a scenic drive north to the salt flats of Salinas Grandes (max height is 4200 meters –12,600 feet) followed by a stay in the Hotel Manantial Del Silencio in the town of Pumamarca . A special farewell dinner is planned in the hotel this last night. The final day we drive back to Salta to catch our flight to Buenos Aires and then connect with our international flight home.

The Hunting- Cordoba is the best dove hunting region in the world, period. Shooters will enjoy pass shooting, field hunts, low birds, high birds and anything in between. Drives to the hunting lands are very short and lunch is a full asado in the filed each day. It is common for hunters to fire between 1500-2000 rounds a day.

Accommodations- The Alvear Palace, Guayascate, Legado Mitica and Del Siliencio are the most deluxe accommodations in each destination and handpicked just for this trip. You can expect the best service, meals and locations at each property.
