For the last six years, Trek owners Milton and Cara Hanburry have escorted a group of anglers to the island of Ambergis Caye in Belize For a week of fishing and fun. Next year’s trip (February 6-13, 2011) will again be at Banyan Bay Resort located a few yards from the Caribbean and a short walk from the cultural town of San Pedro. While many will be freezing in February, some of us will be fishing, island hopping, snorkeling and taking in the warm breezes that make this a great cross generational experience. The second largest barrier reef in the world is located a Tiger Woods 3-iron from the docks and anglers score all types of fish there. Some end up on our table at night cooked by a chef who wets a line every day. There are also numerous flats within a ten minute boat ride where bones and permit abound and February is as good as it gets. Oh, did we mention that a boat loaded with fresh Stone Crab Claws makes a daily delivery to our docks...OMG!! A ticket to paradise is $3,995.00 and includes airfare from Miami on American Airlines (excludes fuel surcharge), all six days of fishing, rooms, meals and internal Tropic flight.
