The Managua Trip

How would you like to participate in a first rate waterfowl and dove hunt and stay in a tropical metro city with all the fine hotels, restaurants, and casinos. Our Managua hunt in Nicaragua is just such a trip. Trek and it outfitters Richard and Marvin Townsend, purchased some nice small lagoons that are exclusive to our hunting groups and accessed 45 minutes from our headquarters at the beautiful Camino Real. Here you will hunt mostly blue-winged teal as well as some pintails, green-winged teal, widgeons and tree ducks. Along with the duck hunts we will also offer wingshooting for white-winged and mourning doves.

Our airboats will be waiting for you each morning at the lagoon and run 10-15 minutes to your semi-dry blind where you and your pick-up boy await the first crack of daylight. This always an exciting time as the ducks dive on the spread of decoys laid out by your bird-boys. After a hot barrel morning of high volume ducks, you head back to the hotel for lunch, a massage and a dip in the pool. In the afternoon you will head out to the corn, rice and sorghum fields, or pass shoot the roosts for dove.

The accommodations for the Managua trip is the very reputable Camino Real located five minutes from the airport and within ten minutes from the heart of the city. You will find the food, service and hospitality to be on par with some of the best hotels in Central America. Our trip is a five day and four night affair with two hunts per day. Our packages normally include flights on American or Delta Airlines but you may elect to do your own. As always, Trek believes in including as much of the costs of the trip in our packages so that there are no surprises while you are on vacation. It has worked this way for 36 years!!
