Banyan Bay - Couples Trip- February 25th- March 3rd, 2012

Over the years Trek has offered very selective venues for its annual Couples Trip. One of the most popular adventures to date has been the February trip Ambergris Caye, an island just off the coast of Belize.

It is no wonder this locale, just over two hours south of Miami, has been so popular; with its beautiful scenery, warm weather, deluxe resorts and abundance of activities. This trip is equally enjoyed by the avid anglers as well as the individuals who are just as happy to relax on the beach for a week of sunny skies and warm breezes. This trip offers it all.

 The Trip: We have put together an eight day, seven night getaway with six full days of fishing the gin clear waters surrounding this Caribbean gem. Your adventure begins with your international departure from Miami into Belize City on American Airlines. After clearing customs and immigrations, you will take a 20 minute commercial flight on to San Pedro Town on the island of Ambergris Caye. Our ground agents will greet you in San Pedro and provide transfer to the Villas at Banyan Bay where your pool view two bedroom condo has been reserved for the week.

The remainder of today is at leisure. The next six days will be full fishing days with overnights at Banyan Bay and on the morning of the last day, you will fly back to Belize City to connect with your scheduled international departure. Upgrades to beach front suites are currently available.

The Fishing: Variety is the key to this adventure. With the worlds second largest barrier reef less than a mile from the beach, you are in the fish very quickly. Outside the reef you are likely to find Grouper, Snapper, Barracuda, Amberjack, Wahoo, Kingfish and Pompano. Inside the reef you will get shots at many of the same species with the addition of Lady Fish, Snook and even Bonefish and Permit on the numerous flats that surround Ambergris. Your local guide will take you to the best spots for your desired species. Your boat will be equipped with a live bait well for the sardines used for reef fishing and of course rods and reels will be provided for your usage.

Trip fee:$ 3,995.00 + any airline fuel surcharge, per person, based on double occupancy. Fee includes airfare from Miami on American Airlines, in country airfare, seven nights accommodations with meals, six days guided fishing with conventional tackle.
