Trek International Safaris
South Africa Hunting

South Africa

As of 2002, this will be Trek’s 7th season operating one of the best wing shooting trips in South Africa. Outfitter Mark Haldane, and his private lodge called Zulu Wings, is a Trek favorite and offers a wonderful mixed-bag hunt including francolin, guinea fowl, geese, ducks, dove and pigeons. The hunting area near Zulu Wings encompasses several hundred thousand acres in the province of KwaZulu Natal three hours north of Johannesburg near the town of Dundee. Each species is hunted with superb organization and many years of experience. Haldane has an excellent kennel of dogs for the francolin fowl are taken by driven hunts. The dove and pigeons are hunted in the many acres of grain near the lodge and the ducks and geese are hunted over decoys in the marshes and lagoons. All species are hunted within one hour of the lodge.

This excellent program will also include a break in the middle of the hunt for a two-day journey to Mkuze Falls Game Reserve where we will stay at a five star facility and view plains game, elephants, lions and other native game. At the end of this great trip we’ll visit Capetown for two nights at the beautiful Victoria and Alfred Waterfront Hotel before flying back to the U.S.

Zulu Wings is a beautiful facility located among several hundred acres of a private reserve. It will accommodate eight guests per trip and has all the amenities of a first class lodge in South Africa. Mark and wife Paula are the perfect native hosts and will make sure your stay will be a memorable one. In fact, non-hunters are welcome on this trip and have enjoyed the variety of activities offered. The season for hunting in South Africa is June-August which is during the winter months in South Africa. Our program includes a flight from Atlanta to Jo’burg and return from Capetown. Call for dates and details in our monthly newsletter.
